What is Pima Cotton
Pima cotton is a type of
cotton known as extra-long staple cotton. It can be marked by its yellow
flowers and black seeds. Additional types of this cotton include Egyptian and sateen
cottons. Pima cotton is grown mainly in Peru, south-west USA and Australia.
Pima tends to be considered
softer and smoother because of the length and strength developments which allow
for high counts on weaving. In fact, some people compare the touch of Pima to
silk. It remains a good product that provides a different feel and
high excellence, product that can lead to a longer lifespan.
Both Pima Cotton and Egyptian cotton
are high-excellence cottons which is why they are equal with luxury and
comfort. Pima and Egyptian cotton are considered to be more-long staple cottons
which mean they have silkier and longer fibers. These long and smooth fibers
are the reasons why bedding made from Pima or Egyptian cotton is so incredibly
soft while being extremely durable. Both types of cotton aren’t prone to
pilling, fraying, tearing, wrinkling or fading
